Deconstructivism

This project tasked me with breaking down a historical art movement into the very basics of the movement’s definition. I then had to take those basics and create my own compositions using the rules of the movement as my guidelines.

I chose to break down the Deconstructivist Architectural Movement known for its fragmentation, non-rectilinear shapes, and the distortion of structure.

Above are my final compositions made with Adobe Illustrator, along with my sketches and processes shown to the right.

Celebrity Posters

This project asked me to break down three celebrities that I resonate with and using only their name, create portraits of who they are. The goal was to capture who that person is/was and using different materials, objects, patterns and colors, create recognizable posters using Adobe Illustrator.

Chef Anne Burrell, American Television Chef

Known mostly for her unique hairstyle, Italian-American recipes, and her 28 seasons as a coach on Worst Cooks in America, this poster captures all of these elements of her life, showcasing the shape of her haircut, the colors used in the show, and her entire life as a TV chef personality.

Gracie Abrams, Singer/Songwriter

A newly popular Pop/Indie Singer and songwriter, Gracie Abrams quickly became one of my favorite musical artists. I wanted to showcase the flowing and lucid emotions I feel while listening to her music and also represent the symbolism in my favorite song of hers, “Blowing Smoke”.

Usher, Singer, Songwriter, Dancer, Producer

Usher has been at the center of many important moments in my life. His upbeat R&B/rap music never fail to left my friends and I’s moods at social settings. With that I wanted to capture the more serious side of Usher’s life in music by photographing broken cds to use in the poster, representing his broken records in the new music age and his bravery when speaking out about corrupt music labels.
